Join us as a volunteer or intern and let's make it happen. 
You do not have to speak Spanish to share your talents! We welcome anyone with the willingness to offer their time.

Social Media

El Refugio can use your marketing and social media skills to spread the word about our programs, events, announcements, updates, and more! 

Events

Volunteer at El Refugio's annual events. You can also represent the organization at community events in Lee County and surrounding communities in North Carolina! Gain experience in event coordination, community engagement, networking, and much more!

Classes and Office Support

El Refugio office team needs your support for daily operations, administrative tasks, data entry, and overall customer service for the people we serve. You can volunteer as a tutor to help English learners, citizenship students, or children in our childcare. Volunteer and get the opportunity to interact with people from diverse backgrounds. 

Translators/Interpreters

El Refugio works with the local government and agencies to help communicate crucial information to non-English speaking communities. You can volunteer to help us bridge the language gap by offering your bilingual skills to translate documents, flyers, etc. 

Internships

El Refugio offers internship opportunities to students from high school, community colleges, and universities to obtain professional experience. We accept students from a variety of disciplines including, but not limited to: social work,  education, business administration, and many more. 

Other Opportunities

There are many other roles you can take to be a part of El Refugio. Join us as a member of the Board of Directors (per board approval), fundraising committee member, pubic relations adviser, grant writer,  or any capacity you can provide.
